Located at the crossroads of major highways, motorway service areas and service stations have become much more than just places to pass through. They now strive to make the traveler experience as pleasant as possible by offering a wide range of services tailored to the needs of drivers and passengers. The goal is to transform time spent at these facilities into a moment of relaxation and convenience. At The Keepers, we contribute to this mission by developing secure and autonomous services, such as our phone charging station, the Keeper Flash, which enhances the user experience while encouraging them to stay longer to enjoy the shops and restaurants on site.
To improve the traveler rest stop experience and generate revenue for shops at motorway service stations and rest areas, we developed our phone charging station, Keeper Flash, based on our clients' specifications, to best address their needs and challenges related to customer service and security. Through field observation, we identified a gap in existing charging locker solutions.
Therefore, to meet all smartphone charging needs, we designed our station with two components:
Flash&Use - External charging cables: travelers can use their phones while charging.
Flash&Go - Secure charging lockers: travelers' phones are safely stored while charging, allowing them to freely enjoy their visit.
This hybrid solution improves service for all users in a secure manner: those who don't have their cable with them, those who wish to disconnect, and those who want to keep their phone with them while charging.
